Sauna

200 lei per 2-hour sauna session + 50 lei for each hour exceeding the initial 2 hours.

Finnish sauna – is a hot, dry-air bath where the temperature can reach up to 100°C. The steam content is very low, at most 10%. The key characteristic of sauna use is the alternation between extreme temperatures—from very hot to ice-cold. Inside the sauna, the body is exposed to such an intense thermal effect that, at the end, cooling the body back down to normal temperature is essential.
When the sauna is “ready” (meaning it has reached the proper level of dry air—90–100°C), the sauna session can begin according to Finnish tradition. From time to time, a “löyly” is added, meaning a splash of water. The water poured over the hot stones increases the steam content briefly and provides a fresh burst of heat.

At the end of the sauna ritual, Finns traditionally “whip” themselves with a “vihta”—a birch twig bundle that stimulates blood circulation and helps induce sweating. The climax of the sauna ritual is cooling off in cold water or snow.

Medical Effects

The sauna helps build resistance against colds and alleviates certain neurovegetative disorders. Raising the body temperature to 39°C has an effect similar to fever, destroying pathogens that cannot survive temperatures above 37°C.
The overheated body is then exposed to a cold bath, which relaxes the muscles, lowers blood pressure, activates blood circulation, strengthens the immune system, improves breathing, and enhances metabolic processes while eliminating toxins through sweating.
